Welcome...

...to the Machine Knitting 101 blog. Over the next few months, I'm going to post pictures of various MK techniques, so this will become an online reference guide for how things look!

There will be pictures of various cast-ons, cast-offs, cables etc. It should be an interesting resource!

Double bed jacquard variations

I created a DBJ cheat sheet based on a handout I used to have, not sure who did it originally. I've added two of my own versions - reversible and vertical lined backing. These were all done on the SK840/SRP60N, so I cannot produce the reversible version, as Silver machines do not pre-select for the next row. There are some pictures of a previous experiment with reversible backing here and here.

Two-row backing tends to elongate the pattern somewhat, so you might have to adjust your pattern to compensate.

One-row backing

Vertical striped backing

Thank you, you're cheat sheet is brilliant, but I wonder if you could explain what you actually have to do - step by step, as I would love to learn this and my manual isn't at all clear.

Your cheat sheet has instructions specific to the SRP60N ribber, which has the extra part (driving cam and carriage button) that aren't on the SRP50 or SRP60, can you clarify what I need to do for plain backing on my listed ribbers?

Adriaan, you should be able to set your ribber set levers to 0 for two passes, that will produce a plain backing on your knitting. Sorry for delay, had to look it up!

@steel breeze, I would like to add a table that has similar content as your DBJ cheat sheet to the manual of the AYAB project. I took the content from another source but I now found your post to be the earliest post on the subject. Is it ok if I list this blog post as an additional source? DerAndere1
